Who we are
The Retablo Lounge Bar Restaurant is located in the center of Noto, the Baroque capital, nestled between the alleys and stones of the late Baroque town in the south east of Sicily.
Retablo is also Lounge Bar – Caffetteria – Tearoom.
Retablo, a term of Spanish origin, indicates an altarpiece, usually placed behind the altars of churches, depicting scenes of life and miracles of saints. But Retablo is also a novel by Vincenzo Consolo, a famous Sicilian writer, who narrates the long journey of two people, profoundly different from each other, but united by the same feeling, love.
Our Retablo, is a journey towards the realization of a dream, of our little miracle.

Typical dishes of the Sicilian tradition
The kitchen re-elaborates and vivifies the flavors of tradition, thebitter-sweet of caponata, pine nuts, raisins, i cherry tomatoes, the cheeses of Ragusa, the strawberries of Val di Noto, the meat and oil of the Monti Iblei, the inevitable fish of the Mediterranean will cross our entire kitchen, from appetizers to first courses, all accompanied by friends whites of Eloro, from Nero d'Avola, the Syrah, the Moscato of Noto.
There will be Cocktail drinks continental, also in some cases reworked in Sicilian sauce, an excellent café, the welcoming tea room from 16 to 19, and the tasty aperitifs that Retablo offers from 19 to 21.

Retablo is an exceptional hidden gem that showcases the best of Sicilian cuisine. The flavors are nothing short of unique, with every dish bursting with authenticity and creativity. A true highlight is the cold almond dessert, which is a revelation—100 times better than semifreddo! This place is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary experience in Noto.
Retablo is a wonderful gem of a restaurant in Noto. Catarina, the owner, is incredibly warm, welcoming and accommodating. The restaurant has a lovely patio dining as well as tables inside. The food is authentic Sicilian. The caponata, Sicilian orange salad, tomato salad are all great. Our favorite pasta was the Norma pasta. We will definitely return to Retablo before we leave Noto.
We were warmly welcomed in a beautiful setting, the staff was attentive and attentive (the manager spoke perfect French). We spent a pleasant time around very good dishes. I recommend.

We were there almost by chance one evening and having eaten divinely we decided to go back for our last dinner here in Noto. Having dined here twice in a few days we tried different dishes and all were delicious, from appetizers to desserts. Very kind and helpful even the owner. Must try absolutely!
The beautiful and very atmospheric restaurant is centrally located. You feel immediately warmly welcomed as a guest and is advised very well on the food and drink selection. The food is of very good quality with very exceptional creations (cantone with dark chocolate - an absolute highlight) or Sicilian specialties. Plus a very well-coordinated beverage arrangement. It was a very nice experience to be here as a guest. Should we ever be in Noto again, we will definitely come back!
A delicious tasting experience with lovely attentive service from all the restaurant staff. We were made to feel very welcome. My starter of caponata with chocolate was a highlight - an unusual combination that produced an outstanding dish which I’d happily eat everyday! I only wish we had room for dessert - next time!

Restaurant found almost by chance by my son passionate about good food and exclusive locations, who reading the other reviews was curious. Curiosity has found a pleasant confirmation: polite and courteous welcome from those who are passionate about their work and intend to transfer to guests all the love for what they do, selected raw materials and special combinations of flavors excellently successful, very well-kept location and impeccable service. We enjoyed first courses: risotto with red shrimp, fish ravioli with yellow datterini cream and salmon, Sicilian wheat linguine with sardines. As main courses: sardines alla beccafico and cod in cbt. All excellent, abundant portions and well balanced flavors. We could not resist the desserts: DIY cannoli and chocolate tartlet and pistachio ice cream. Excellent Recommendation on wine. A place where we felt welcomed and pampered and where in another stop in Noto we will definitely go. Thank you for your professionalism.

We are in full historic center a Known, behind Palazzo Ducezio, the Palazzo del Comune, a stone's throw from the Cathedral of Noto "San Nicolò", in a suggestive alleyway with steps, a place to immerse yourself in a tale of food, wine, sweets, with a Sicilian flavor.
